The BIF Act and the QBCC Act give subcontractors strong rights. Most are lost through missed deadlines and paperwork.
The most time a builder has to respond to your payment claim with a schedule. The contract can make it shorter.
BIF Act s76If no payment schedule comes back in time, the full amount you claimed becomes payable.
BIF Act s77–78Pay-when-paid clauses have no effect. You don't wait on the builder getting paid first.
